How To Make Perfect Basmati Rice



Preparing rice using this method is an excellent way of enjoying the taste of rice without the added worry of starch. And as an added bonus the rice comes out soft and fluffy, not lumpy and hard.
Step 1:
Prepare The Rice And Water
Right we have two cups of Basmati rice which we have washed and soaked already for about half an hour.
And we have eight cups of water boiling, a liter approximately.
Step 2:
Add The Rice To The Water
We're going to add our rice, soaked rice to the boiling water. It's important to remove all the water the rice has been soaking in first, because you don't want the cold water to bring down the temperature of your boiling water.Careful as bubbles come out and give it a little stir.
Step 3:
Leave To Boil
And at this point, once the water has started boiling again, you're going to put on the timer for ten minutes to the dot and it's going to be ready.
Step 4:
Top Tip
Cooking it uncovered is fine. We're going to stir it around a little bit. You may be wondering why we're using so much water for the amount of rice we're using. And that's because we're going to end up straining out the excess water at the end. This is a really healthy way of cooking since most of the starch in the rice gets removed at the end.
Step 5:
Drain The Rice
It's been ten minutes now so we're going to take the rice to the sink and drain it out into the cullendar. Then we leave it in the sink for a couple of minutes.
Step 6:
Serve
So there we have it. Perfect basmati rice.We have used basmati rice for its long grain and its fragrance.
